Senior Network Engineer

Purpose of the Job

HH Global is creating a Global Network Team due to a rapid business growth which requires dedicated On-premises and cloud network BAU operational function as well as network project implementation to facilitate our wider technology roadmap.

The Senior Network Engineer will perform a key role within the Global Network Team that is responsible for providing operational support and maintaining our global business on-prem and cloud network.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-prem and cloud BAU network escalation support to our global business
• Perform in-depth complex network troubleshooting by capturing and analysing packets. Perform root cause analysis to avoid repetitive network outages. Produce incident reports.
• Perform network and firewall review and document existing network infrastructure. Propose and implement network improvement changes/plans. Ensure network functions and performs to meet the business requirements.
• Maintain network devices by upgrading firmware and replace aging hardware.
• Participate technical workshops with project stakeholders and participating vendors and produce HLD/LLD by including the appropriate level of details.
• Actively work with and manage external network suppliers and service providers.
• Set up Proof of Concept (PoC) network environments as required for key initiatives.
• Perform architectural reviews of the key platforms at appropriate intervals to optimise and ensure they continue to meet the business requirements.
• Provide knowledge transfer and training sessions within the team.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• 15+ years of experience as a Network Engineer with 5+ years in a senior role placing emphasis on standards, design, and implementation
• Thorough and demonstrable understanding of Cisco Enterprise LAN and Data Centre environments, 3rd line support level including deployment, administration, and troubleshooting
• Thorough and demonstrable understanding of WAN connectivity and routing protocols also with experience and understanding of the implementation, configuration, and management of virtual and physical networking solutions
• Extensive routing protocol knowledge with BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
• Configuring and troubleshooting IPsec tunnels
• Troubleshooting L2/L3 connectivity issues at multiple sites across the world
• Extensive network troubleshooting skills at packet and protocol level using packet capture tools such as Wireshark
• Strong experience of planning complex changes and presenting change plans to the stakeholders and Change Advisory Board (CAB). This can come from integrating acquisitions, consolidating networks, changing IP addressing schemes etc.
• Extensive hands-on experience in configuring and managing next-gen firewalls specifically Palo Alto, Cisco ASA and FortiGate.
• Cisco switch configuration and troubleshooting 2900, 6500, 9300, and 9400 devices.
• Strong working knowledge with Cisco controllers, AP's and Meraki WLAN devices.
• Radius and TACACS+ configuration
• Excellent communications skills, organizational skills, and autonomous working.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of NFV (Network Function Virtualization) and VNF (Virtualized Network Function)
• Azure/AWS cloud network administration experience
• SASE and SD-WAN experience is highly desirable using Netskope or Palo Alto
• Design experience of network solutions and creation of high & low-level designs
