Job Overview

The Office of Accounting and Finance, College of Medicine is seeking to hire a Financial Administrator 2. This position requires basic knowledge of finance areas, including standard financial principles & terminology, theories and practices. Duties are of minimal to moderate complexity & require some degree of fiscal, problem solving, training and team coordination responsibilities.

This position will offer flexibility for a hybrid remote schedule for applicants with a residence within OH/IN/KY once training is complete. Remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate and monitor fiscal administrative duties.
  • Assist in the development of unit policies and procedures.
  • Monitor the financial status of unit programs and other budget allocations.
  • Implement policies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Prepare reports.
  • May coordinate personnel transactions for an operating unit in a limited capacity.
  • Prepare invoices and reconcile Accounts Receivable reports to follow-up on past-due balances.
  • Monitor the financial status of unit programs and other budget allocations.
  • Implement policies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Generate purchase orders.
  • Process journal entries and cash transfers.
  • Review and prepare Concur reports for reimbursements and purchasing card transactions.
  • Prepare monthly fund reports.
  • Allocate personnel effort through cost distributions.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree must be in accounting or related field.
  • Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Two (2) years of finance or accounting experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Customer service skills with a positive attitude.
  • Experience in budget management and grant management is ideal.

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
