Job Description

As an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Food & Beverage Manager in overall management of the hotel restaurant outlets.



Responsibilities

    Assist in overall management of the Food & Beverage Department as outlined by the Director of Food & Beverage, and the Food & Beverage Outlets Manager.
  • Remain present during operational "golden hours," assist with monitoring product pars, assisting staff when necessary.
  • Hold daily Stand-Up meetings. Monitor team members' overall performance and utilization of skills learned during the Power of Engagement Modules.
  • Handle guest comments and complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate with guest professionally via phone or email usage.
  • Ensure all prepared dishes meet Virginia Health Department standards and Omni Richmond Hotels standards for safety, presentation and quality.
  • Assist Food and Beverage Outlets Manager in scheduling, forecasting, budgeting and managerial coverage
  • Participate in interviewing new employees as needed.
  • Prepare maintenance requests using Synergy and follow-up.
  • Monitor food and liquor requisitions and food waste.
  • Check bar controls, shot glass use, and bottles totally empty daily.


Qualifications

  • This position requires a 50 hour work week.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in a hospitality field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Must have the ability to manage and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Individual must be able to work in fast pace environment and multitask.
  • Proven effective leader and ability to delegate.
  • Able to train, develop and lead a team to success.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
  • ServSafe Food Manager Certification and Tips Certifications, or ability to acquire in the first 30 days of employment.
  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects of moderate weight without assistance.
  • Experience in directing the work of others
  • Ability to act with a customer comes first attitude and deliver customer service that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Ability to use discretion in providing direction to others
