Job Summary
The
SAP Technical Lead will play a critical role in the technical execution of SAP projects, ensuring the successful design, development, and implementation of SAP solutions. This individual will be responsible for leading a team of technical experts, managing integration, system architecture, and application implementation across SAP technologies, including ABAP, NetWeaver, SAP Cloud Integration, and SAP Cloud Platform. The SAP Technical Lead will collaborate with business managers, functional teams, and end-users to ensure technical and functional alignment with business goals, while also mentoring and training junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Take an active role in executing project plans, tasks, and engagements with a client-focused approach. Manage the delivery of technical solutions on time and within scope.
- Present and write at a publication-quality level to communicate findings, technical designs, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Facilitate discussions with clients and stakeholders, negotiating mutually beneficial solutions to complex challenges. Resolve conflicts and manage expectations effectively.
- Lead and mentor a small team of technical resources, including providing guidance on SAP development, integration, and S/4 HANA transformations. Provide leadership in conducting solution architecting workshops with business managers.
- Collaborate with client staff, business analysts, and functional teams to define and gather technical requirements, ensuring accuracy in technical and functional specifications.
- Provide integration architecture guidance to functional teams to support the development of functional designs and contribute to the technical design process.
- Lead hands-on development and oversight of RICEFW (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms) elements, ensuring the application of SAP best practices in solution design and implementation.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, providing technical expertise in code development and SAP design. Implement best practices across the team and share knowledge with clients.
- Lead knowledge transfer sessions and provide training to end-users, including sharing SAP best practices.
- Provide leadership to junior systems analysts and client personnel. Serve as a subject matter expert, offering guidance and answering technical questions from internal teams and clients.
- Act as a point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues for current and past clients.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Must possess at least one DOD 8570 certification: GSEC, Security+CE, SSCP, CCNA-security
- Must possess a qualified certification in a computing environment
- Minimum 7 years of SAP technical consultant experience, with at least 2 full lifecycle implementations as a lead SAP technical consultant within the past 5 years.
- At least 3 years of experience with SAP legacy system conversion, including data migration and integration tasks.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of key SAP technologies, including ABAP, NetWeaver, SAP Cloud Integration, SAP Cloud Platform, and S/4 HANA transformation.
- Hands-on experience in SAP RICEFW development, integration, and implementation of SAP best practices.
- Strong understanding of the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC), system implementation methodologies, and Agile practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead small teams, mentor junior staff, and manage client relationships with senior-level executives.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information in an understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders.
- Client-focused with the ability to build strong relationships and deliver high-quality solutions that meet business needs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address technical challenges and develop innovative solutions.
Desired Skills
- SAP certification (Professional level) in relevant modules or technologies.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience in leading technical aspects of Agile projects.
- Experience in IT change management and managing technical transformations across teams.
- Previous experience working with government agencies or public sector clients is a plus.
- Strong mentoring abilities and a track record of knowledge sharing within teams and with clients.
Security Clearance
- Active Secret clearance preferred.
