We are currently seeking highly motivated and energetic students to join our team as a 2025 Summer Intern at our Howmet Structure Systems (HSS) group; a business unit within Howmet Aerospace, a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries. The Company's primary businesses focus on jet engine components, aerospace fastening systems and titanium structural parts necessary for mission-critical performance and efficiency in aerospace and defense applications, as well as forged wheels for commercial transportation. Howmet Aerospace Savannah, located in Midway, GA, has high-tonnage conventional and isothermal forging presses for titanium, nickel-based superalloys, and exotic materials; heat treat furnaces with ability to quench, fan cool, air cool; large park of CNC lathes. Essential Functions:

This is a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities and is not all inclusive. This position will assist engineering and manufacturing in driving improvements in quality and delivery performance through process control and product improvement initiatives. Examples of activities include:

• Calculate machine speed and feed ratios and the size and position of cuts.
• Learn about raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Perform data analytics computations.
• Support daily production needs with engineering support.

Regular attendance is an essential function of the position. The candidate must be able to learn and follow company procedures and work instructions, as well as maintain a safe and organized workstation and follow all company policy, safety, and procedures.

Basic Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Must be enrolled as a junior in college or higher and pursuing a Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering degree at an accredited institution.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent analytical and organization skills, and ability to work in a self-directed or team environment.
• Employees/Interns must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
• Relocation is not available for this role and candidates must be within a commutable distance to the office.

Physical Demands

• Required to wear common Protective or Safety Equipment such as Safety Shoes, Glasses, Gloves, Hearing Protection, Hard Hats when working on the plant floor.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
