2000 16th Street,Denver,Colorado,80202,United States of America Title: DaVita Health Care Compliance Summer Intern Job Duties: The Compliance Team Summer Internship Program is scheduled for 10 weeks and will include a variety of projects. This opportunity will develop your legal and analytical skillset and expose you to a comprehensive and dynamic health care compliance program. It will also give you the chance to see if DaVita and the health care space are a good fit for your long-term goals. The Compliance Team is responsible for helping DaVita succeed and grow in a manner that complies with all applicable laws and regulations, is responsible and consistent with the Company's values and high ethical standards, and protects and enhances our reputation and other assets. The Compliance Team is responsible for implementing all seven elements of an effective compliance program as laid out by OIG. The Compliance Team Summer Internship is based at DaVita's headquarters in Denver, CO. Candidates are expected to follow a hybrid work structure and come into the office at least two days a week. Students who accept the internship position are responsible for housing costs. During your internship appointment you will work closely with experienced compliance professionals on projects that may include the following: Assessing regulatory and compliance risks under Federal laws such as the Anti-Kickback Statute, the False Claims Act, and Beneficiary Inducement Statute. Reviewing contracts for various compliance requirements. Assisting in compliance monitoring functions by analyzing data and performing testing against applicable policies, procedures and regulations. Analyzing and improving compliance education tools, trainings, policies, and procedures. Accurately updating and maintaining contract databases. Job Qualifications/Requirements: REQUIRED: Candidates must be current law students (full-time or part-time) pursuing a J.D. degree and returning to school in Fall 2024. Candidates must be team players with the ability to work independently. Candidates must be available for the full 10 week internship. Candidates must be willing to follow a hybrid work environment. Candidates should have proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. PREFERRED: Candidates should be a 1L or 2L law student. Candidates should have strong personal character and ethics. Candidates should have superior communication and interpersonal skills. Candidates should have excellent academic achievement and analytical ability. Ideal Candidates have an understanding of health care law and regulatory compliance.
