Position Overview: Senior Highway Engineer

Our client is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to join their team at the Moving I-4 Forward Program Office in Celebration, FL. This embedded position requires the candidate to report to the office five days a week and contribute to one of the state's most high-profile infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:




  • Provide professional engineering consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of diverse projects.



  • Develop and evaluate engineering reports, plans, and specification criteria.



  • Coordinate with a multidisciplinary project team and assist in client communication, proposal coordination, and presentations.



  • Prepare specifications, scaled drawings, and proposals; ensure final plans meet approval standards for materials and construction.



  • Meet with clients to determine objectives and requirements for the project scope.



  • Review junior staff's work for technical accuracy and provide guidance to other professionals and technicians.



  • Perform quality control reviews, field reviews, and observations of ongoing construction projects.



  • Review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments, and lead a team of professionals to complete projects.



  • Supervise and review the work of junior professionals, technicians, and other team members.




Qualifications:




  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, with ten to fourteen years of experience since earning a Bachelor's degree.



  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.



  • Proven technical writing and communication skills.



  • Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to oversee and guide junior professionals.



  • Ability to work independently and make decisions regarding engineering design and project management.



  • Eligible for project management training.
