*Job Description: UX/Interaction Sound Designer* *Onsite position in Burlingame, CA*
Role Overview: Join a dynamic Creative Audio Organization that plays a crucial role in designing audio experiences across a wide range of products. Our team collaborates with product and creative teams to create audio for video, post-production, final mixing and mastering, audio field recording, sound effects, and large-scale content projects. We work with various software and hardware, including mobile devices, glasses, VR headsets, and AR/MR technologies. Our team consists of over 60 audio experts dedicated to connecting people through the power of sound. We are seeking an experienced UX/Interactive Sound Designer with a passion for sound and a proven track record of creating interactive and immersive sonic experiences. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of interaction sound design and its impact on users. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to provide creative feedback are essential. Responsibilities: * Create world-class sound design for interactive experiences. * Collaborate closely with partners to determine the scope of work, plan, and execute sound design and implementation. * Gain a deep understanding of product voice to maintain quality and leverage existing content for consistency and efficiency. * Prepare and test (dogfooding) for implementation accuracy, and collaborate with internal and external team members to address bugs and optimize sounds in the product. * Coordinate with engineering on implementation after design is ready. * Conduct comparative research analysis during discovery. * Create video captures for design and sizzle reels. * Audit existing experiences to identify improvements. Minimum Qualifications: * 5+ years of experience creating UX sonic experiences for products in mobile, hardware, and non-traditional or immersive environments. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Proficiency in Pro Tools and/or other professional DAWs. * Experience with UX/Interactive sound design and its effects on users. * Ability to manage, scope, and communicate project milestones and deliverables. * Experience creating original sound design for high-profile products. * Experience testing sound implementation. * Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Time-management and organizational skills to meet delivery specifications and deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: * Mobile audio experience. * Experience designing audio for AR and VR experiences. * Familiarity with game engines (Unity, Unreal). * AR audio experience with AR design tools (Spark, Snap Studio). * Experience with audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD). * Knowledge of acoustics, equipment setups, and calibration. * Ability to mix in various formats, including spatial audio. * Video editing skills (Premier Pro, Final Cut, Avid, etc.). *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
