About the Job

The Grossman Center is seeking a Research Nurse to join a dynamic team of physicians, scientists, project managers, and clinical research staff to conduct cutting-edge Alzheimer's disease research and deliver the best care practices for brain health and disease management.

Duties/Responsibilities (Duties include but are not limited to):

(30%)- Coordinate the enrollment of eligible patients, manage and coordinate research subject's participation, perform patient evaluations, extract and report patient data and samples, and respond to data queries.
(15%)- Support the safety of study participants and maintain communication with their families/caregivers and clinical teams.
(15%)- Use nursing practices and standards to perform protocol-specific clinic activities. This could include patient education about the treatments and data collection, telephone triage of patient concerns, coordination of care for protocol activities and other medical services.
(10%)- Administer medications and/or treatments as defined by the study protocol and aligned with "Scope of Practice" delegated responsibilities under supervision of study physicians.
(10%)- Act as an information resource to patients for protocol specific queries, including availability of trials, enrollment requirements, specimens needed, etc.
(10%)- Communication with the various stakeholders, including sponsoring agencies, the health system, principal investigator(s), other service providers, subjects, families, and research team members.
(10%)- Coordinate and collaborate with the research team to ensure timely and accurate data and regulatory (FDA, NIH, and IRB) submissions; engage with providers and investigators to ensure adequate source documentation is available; accurate interpretation and recording of data; maintenance of subject research charts.

Qualifications

Candidates will have the opportunity to gain a range of skills related to neuropsychometric measures and neurological evaluations of aging and dementia patients, while supporting patients and their families participating in Grossman Center clinical research protocols. This position is full-time, Monday - Friday from approximately 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. The position will be hybrid, with some ability to work remotely. The in-person locations will be at the M Health Clinics and Surgery Center (CSC) and Clinical Research Unit (CRU), the Phillips-Wangensteen Building, and at other M Health Fairview community clinics in the Twin Cities metro.

Required Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure in Minnesota or license eligible.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing with at least 2 years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal six years.
- Experience with patient care/contact and interacting with families

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in neurology or clinical neurosciences
- Experience with computerized data management in a healthcare setting, including electronic medical records like EPIC
- Experience interviewing and documenting outpatient clinic visits appropriately
- Possess excellent communication skills; verbal and written.
- Familiarity with clinical research, research methodology and/or regulations
