At Central Power, we specialize in diagnostics and repair of all makes and models of Heavy-Duty Trucks, and Allison Transmissions. Join our team of factory trained, certified technicians who are put into an environment to succeed at what we do. State of the art equipment with up to date tooling and diagnostics to get the job done safely, effectively and efficiently.

In-house and factory training and certifications provided at our brand new training center.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Reports to the Service Foreman and responsible for the In-Shop floor technical assistance for mechanics and repairs and service/maintenance as directed by the Service Foreman.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Functions




  • Perform service and maintenance on all makes and models of heavy-duty trucks.



  • Use of OEM diagnostic software to perform repairs in line with dealer and manufacturer specifications.



  • Perform heavy-duty engine swings, transmission replacements, air brake services and chassis repairs.



  • In depth repair of engine and transmission related components (Training provided!)



  • In-frame overhaul of heavy-duty engines to include gear train inspection, cylinder head replacement, piston and connecting rod replacement and main bearing replacement to factory specifications.



  • Rebuilding of Allison transmissions in dedicated overhaul area.



  • Operation of state of the art engine, transmission and chassis dynos to aid in diagnostics and ensure correct operation following repairs.





In-Shop Responsibilities




  1. Clock on to work orders



  2. Repair various components of on-highway vehicles



  3. Position and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists.



  4. Troubleshoot and Diagnose



  5. Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer specifications.



  6. Performs repairs as directed by the Service Foreman.



  7. Completes all time cards or timekeeping requirements to track labor in jobs.



  8. Completes all paperwork necessary to perform repairs as directed.



  9. Notifies Service Foremen upon completion of repairs.



  10. Other responsibilities as designated by and at the discretion of management.





POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education




  • High School Diploma or GED required. A technicalschool certificate in related field such as Automotive/Diesel Technology, or Welding/Fabrication preferred.
