Inventory Control Team Lead

As an Inventory Control Lead, you will work in a fast paced, agile, and constantly growing environment. Your daily work will consist of cycle counts and helping investigate inventory discrepancies. Primary role is individual contributor but also has responsibility to lead others. This position is important to the proper functioning of the materials management organization.

Inventory Control is a team within the ME-based materials management organization that supports all lines of business within IDEXX. We do this by providing high quality work that enables our teams as well as our end customers to improve the health and wellbeing of pets, people and livestock.

In This Role

  • Your primary function for this position will be lead the daily work of the inventory control program requirements for all Maine based locations, including but not limited to inventory cycle counting and scrap program(s).

  • You will support inventory processes, solutions, and strategies for the continuous improvement of inventory accuracy and order fulfillment quality; includes cycle counts, data entry, tracking, reconciling, documenting, and reporting.

  • You will report progress against goals to management. Periodically review and discuss operations and status of programs with team members.

  • You will actively engage in the inventory control processes for non-conforming materials, material in transit to our Maine based facilities, scrap processing, and inventory reporting.

  • You will Investigate and resolve inventory inaccuracies and provide root cause analysis and recommendations for corrective actions.

  • You will ensure inventories are accurate by lot and location through accurate data entry, tracking, reconciling, documenting, and reporting.

  • You will satisfy inventory requests for business partners across the IDEXX organization by utilizing designated serials, batch/lot numbers, SAP data, material requisitions and packing/shipping documentation.

  • You will serve as an informational resource and ensure work is completed timely and efficiently.

  • You will collaborate with other departments to coordinate work and resolve issues as needed.

  • You may perform related duties such as gathering information/data, reporting and other responsibilities.

  • You will Assist and/or participate on special projects and teams as needed.

  • You will maintain a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse and environment.

  • You will perform regular duties of an individual contributor.

  • You will Lead work activities of others, coordinating daily activities and providing training, coaching and guidance.

  • You will adhere to all applicable regulatory and safety procedures and requirements.

EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

What You Will Need to Succeed (REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES):

  • Strong computer skills and knowledge including Microsoft Office Suite and SAP. (Moderate experience in Microsoft Excel preferred)

  • Ability to gather information, review details and identify resolutions quickly and efficiently using troubleshooting techniques.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Must be detail oriented, a self-starter, and a team player.

  • Positive, can-do attitude.

  • A willingness to learn new things, and engage in lean processes

  • Ability to prioritize tasks while being organized with an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of IDEXX's Material Handling, Inventory Control Cycle Counting and Scrap Processes (preferred)

  • Ability to work well under pressure and tight time constraints.

  • Able to follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and applicable ISO regulations.

  • Mentorship skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of area work activities and/or Inventory Control.

  • Able to properly lift up-to 50 pounds; ability to move up to 100 pounds with assistance.

  • Certificate to operate a forklift may be required (training available if required).

  • Certificate to work with hazardous materials may be required (training available if required).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequent lifting of large, unwieldy boxes or containers.

  • Must be able to work for extended periods of time standing, sitting, walking, reaching with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk and hear.

  • Must be able to utilize, and be certified, to use motorized lift equipment, if applicable.

  • Moderate to high computer use.

  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch.

  • May be required to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to utilize, and be certified, to use motorized lift equipment, if applicable.

  • Moderate to high computer use.

  • Ability to communicate verbally on phone and in person.

  • Fluency in the English language.

  • Some travel required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Normal warehouse environment where protective clothing and equipment may be required.
