HX5 is currently seeking an Avionics Engineer for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Electronic Warfare (EW) and Avionics Division supporting Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures (LAIRCM) at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support avionics systems' lifecycles from development to sustainment and provide technical guidance to Integrated Product Teams (IPT) relating to Operational Safety, Suitability, & Effectiveness (OSS&E).

  • Contribute to Integrated Master Plans (IMP), Systems Engineering Detail Schedules (SEDS), Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), test plans and other documents/reports.

  • Evaluate engineering proposals and participate in technology updates, configuration boards, and failure analysis to enhance system reliability and maintenance.

  • Understand avionics engineering, including subsystem design, integration, verification, modeling, and airworthiness certification for diverse hardware and software.

  • Apply knowledge of Communication Navigations Surveillance / Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) standards to define requirements, complete compliance matrices, and aid in testing and certification processes.

  • Update and review program documentation related to avionics engineering requirements and support analysis of avionics systems and subsystems.

  • Identify potential avionics issues and areas for improvement, providing insights for US Government consideration.

Education and Experience:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:

  • Master's Degree from an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program and ten (10) years' relative experience, five (5) of which must be in the DoD.

  • Or ... Bachelor's Degree from an ABET accredited program and twelve (12) years' relative experience, five (5) of which must be in the DoD

* Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance by date of hire.
  • Must be able to travel, including air travel.
