Director of IT SOX Transformation Hybrid in Billerica, MA Quanterix is revolutionizing biomarker analysis to advance precision health, leveraging Simoa technology for ultra-sensitive protein detection. ROLE SUMMARY: The Director, IT SOX Transformation is a highly visible individual contributor role, reporting directly to the Vice President, SOX Transformation. The SOX Transformation team is a newly formed group within the broader finance function. The mission of the Transformation Team is to standardize, optimize and rationalize Quanterix's internal control environment to better serve our employees, customers, and shareholders. In this role, you will have frequent audience with the Chief Information Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Corporate Controller as well as other business leaders. While you will also maintain oversight of external subject matter experts in the areas of internal controls, this may change as Quanterix increasingly insources expertise, reducing external reliance for best-in-class activities. Further, you will the opportunity to have an immediate and tangible impact on Quanterix, helping to support our ambitious strategic goals. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Working closely with the Chief Information Officer, lead the Transformation team's SOX related efforts over Quanterix's IT General Controls (ITGC). This includes assisting in the design and implementation of effective ITGC's, assisting in the review and materiality considerations of any exceptions and coordinating all aspects of the relationship with our outsourced vendors Assist the Vice President, SOX Transformation with staffing decisions for the IT SOX workstream Lead the design and implementation of ITGC's over newly in-scope applications Be the Transformation Team's ITGC SME on the implementation of a new ERP. Assist the business process team members in IT considerations including assessing IT application controls and relevant interfaces. Lead the team in assessing the implications of relevant SOC reports. Lead the team in developing tools and process improvements over our ITGC environment and overall SOX process. Assist in identifying and evaluating business and technology risks, internal controls which mitigate risks, and related opportunities for internal control improvement and implementation Use problem solving and critical thinking skills to quickly identify internal control deficiencies, evaluate their risk implications, and draw the appropriate conclusions Lead the effort of testing the effectiveness of controls, including planning, execution of the plan and documentation while adhering to overall project timelines Lead the IT efforts in assessing the risk posed by business combinations Collaborate with process and control owners for remediation of identified deficiencies, advising them on internal control enhancements or process changes, as appropriate Supporting process owners through training, reviewing, and providing guidance for their processes Staying current to changes in regulatory guidance, industry best practices, and areas of focus/hot topics for external audits Coordinate with process and control owners and external auditors for the audit of the Corporation's internal controls Proactively identify and monitor process and system changes that result from our growth, international expansion, software application changes, accounting integration in connection with acquisitions and other areas of change that have a direct impact the Corporation's financial statements and related disclosures Develop internal audit function and internal audit plans and timelines Support ad-hoc projects as they arise BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 10+ years of professional experience with 3+ years of direct SOX 404 compliance, internal controls, internal auditing, accounting and/or testing experience. Experience supporting public company accounting and reporting while working in a Big 4 Accounting firm (Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG or PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: MSA or MBA degree Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) licensure For avoidance of doubt, you must be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of COSO, PCAOB auditing standards, Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 requirements as well as business process best practices Progressive experience with deep understanding of SOX 404 requirements including defining and designing internal controls over financial reporting Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to be self-motivated and independent Working knowledge with Oracle Fusion; FloQast, Paycore, and/or Salesforce Prior experience supervising and collaborating with global teams; demonstrated adaptability with verbal and written communication across business cultures and and time zones Strong attention to detail, meticulous organizational skills and strong desire for continuous improvement Self-motivated and strong ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, driven towards superior effort and performance Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, specifically in developing positions and presenting to management, auditors, and non-accounting stakeholders An innate curiosity with a default "trust but verify" mindset EXPECTATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Ability to work in Billerica, MA at minimum 3 days a week WHY YOU'LL LIKE WORKING WITH US: Our Technology: From discovery to diagnostics, Quanterix's ultrasensitive biomarker detection is fueling breakthroughs only made possible through its unparalleled sensitivity and flexibility.
