Summary:

The Starbucks Barista ensures service standards are met and surpassed by creating the Starbucks Experience for our patients, families, visitors, and staff at Cook Children's Medical Center. Responsibilities include providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, while maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment, operating the cash register and accurately maintaining the daily cash drawer, and preparing and setting up the front-of-the-house of the restaurant for service. Strive to maintain excellent customer service to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.

Hours: Must be available to work Saturdays & Sundays, 8-hour rotating shifts & 1 day during the week.

Required Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 1-year customer service experience required; cashier experience preferred.

  • Excellent customer service skills and professional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to perform detailed assignments, follow directions, and work under pressure. Readily adapt to change in routine and work assignments, and relate to patients, families, and inter- and intra-departmental staff.

  • Ability to make at least 90% on the barista certification examination after completion of barista training. May have the opportunity to take examination twice in order to preserve employment within Starbucks. The second test must be administered within 3-7 days after the first test.

  • Experience working with computers is preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

  • Must have or obtain the City of Fort Worth Food Handlers Card prior to employment. Card must be current at all times during employment.
