Overview

This position reports to the Leasing Controller and provides a wide range of accounting support including balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, journal entries and month-end close related duties. This position also performs technical accounting activities and financial analyses. Although this position is subject to moderate direct supervision, a degree of creativity, latitude and independent problem-solving is expected.

Responsibilities

    Research and resolve debt note issues with various lenders.
  • Record and process debt note payoffs.
  • Research and reconcile intercompany transactions, as well as prepare weekly uploads.
  • Record the purchase and disposal of lease fleet equipment into the general ledger.
  • Record the financing and payoffs of lease fleet equipment into the general ledger.
  • Perform account reconciliations and schedule maintenance as assigned. Post required journal entries to maintain accuracy of assigned general ledger accounts and schedules.
  • Responsible for processing and overseeing monthly and yearly lease close tasks as assigned.
  • Help with month-end close related responsibilities.
  • Accountable for meeting department attendance requirements including schedule agreements; month-end and year-end close activity requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service to cross-functional members of the TEC Team.
  • Support cycle of continuous improvement in process and controls. Apply structured problem-solving techniques to create robust, enduring process workflows.
  • Manage workload and proactively communicate with Management when there are unexpected challenges.
  • Maintain adequate knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting aspects tied to lease accounting.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (Preferred) or Business Administration
  • 2-3 years of experience doing account reconciliations and full charge bookkeeping is required
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, good verbal and written communication, strong Excel skills and familiarity with basic accounting software applications.
  • Exposure to medium to large sized companies that operate in a best practice environment.
