SAE International is seeking a dynamic and strategic Principal Marketing Specialist to promote the extensive benefits of SAE membership and our array of University Program, student events. The ideal candidate will develop and execute marketing strategies that highlight our membership advantages and student competitions, drive engagement, and attract new members and participants. This role requires a blend of strategic planning, creative thinking, and hands-on execution to effectively communicate the value of SAE membership and University Programs to potential and existing stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Collaboration: Act as the primary marketing liaison for Member Services, Professional Development, Events, and Foundation to align efforts with organizational goals.
  • Agency Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for the marketing agency, ensuring alignment with SAE's strategic objectives and providing direction for engagement and revenue-driven campaigns.
  • Marketing Strategy & Campaigns: Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans and multi-channel campaigns to drive SAE membership, student engagement, and event participation.
  • Content & Digital Marketing: Create compelling marketing materials and manage digital campaigns across email, social media, and paid advertising.
  • Event Promotion: Implement targeted marketing strategies to boost awareness and participation among students and academic institutions in SAE student competitions and programs.
  • Market Research & Analytics: Use industry insights and data analysis to shape marketing strategies and optimize campaign performance.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Manage budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation and campaign effectiveness.

  • Exceptional project management abilities, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously with efficiency.
  • Creative thinker with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with and present to all stakeholders, including senior leadership.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • 6 years of experience in marketing, preferably within a membership-based or non-profit organization.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including social media, email marketing, and content marketing.
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics tools and the ability to interpret data to drive decision-making.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred experience working within Workfront, Salesforce, Marketo, or related platforms.
  • Experience marketing membership organizations or programs a plus
  • Experience marketing to young professionals or incoming workforce a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standard office environment: remote or hybrid if in the Pittsburgh, PA area
