Our staff perform a variety of social service and casework duties designed to provide supportive services to children, youth, and families. We work in close cooperation with other social service agencies, hospitals, mental health facilities, police, Courts, schools, and other community resources in assisting families. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a County Casework Manager 2, you will be responsible for the supervision and evaluation of workers within your assigned unit. Work involves community organizational responsibilities in terms of assessing community needs and resources, and the coordination of children and youth activities with other programs and agencies. A thorough knowledge of applicable federal and state laws as they pertain to the welfare of children and youth within Northumberland County must be maintained. You will have the opportunity share your job knowledge as you develop and evaluate staff training needs and educate them on current policies, programs, and procedures. Additional responsibilities include:
- Preparing annual service plans and budget estimates, including the assessment of community needs and resources
- Supervising a group of lower-level county social service supervisors
- Preparing and directing the compilation of reports, correspondence, and the maintenance of files and records
- Conducting management and case staff meetings
- Acting as staff assistant to the children and youth Advisory Board
- Representing the Northumberland County children and youth program with community agencies, and at regional and statewide meetings pertaining to Children and Youth Services
- Making recommendations to Northumberland County commissioners on agency related matters
- Working closely with the overall judicial system, president judge, and juvenile probation office
- Facilitating children and Youth Services primary providers meetings

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in public or private social work including two years in a public welfare program, two of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; and a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
