Job Summary

The Senior HR Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in areas of assignment and with the Company. The Sr. HRBP will collaborate directly with Site Leadership to deliver Human Resources management services, programs, and solutions to the applicable site and companywide. The position formulates partnerships across the assigned areas to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The Sr. HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture, and its competition. The Sr. HRBP is a part of the assigned Site Leadership team and part of the corporate HR team. We are looking for a Sr. HRBP with strong leadership and relationship building skills who also has strong operational focus and a sense of urgency to deliver on the day-to-day tasks and company-wide projects.

This role will be located in North Charleston, SC.



On-Site Expectations

    100% on-site position at Charleston, SC location.
  • 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm.


Responsibilities

  • Provides a full range of human resources and operational support to assigned teams.
  • Acts as a trusted business partner in all HR matters for the business.
  • Partners with the organization by actively participating in managing the business and integrating the human resources function with business activities to provide value to the customer.
  • Conducts weekly meetings with respective business unit leaders.
  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Tracks and manages KPIs for site, department, quality council, and other dashboards.
  • Partners with all HR team members to provide excellent service to employees and management.
  • Partners with leadership and HR team to effectively communicate business strategies, goals, values, and performance expectations.
  • Conducts new hire orientation to ensure new employees are well-educated on Alcami benefits, policies, and expectations.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Manages and administers local salary and incentive administration and performance management process.
  • Works closely with the Talent Acquisition team regarding the recruitment process and focuses on Talent Management.
  • Works with management on workforce planning and development.
  • Manages local initiatives for resource planning and development to cultivate a talent pipeline.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Ensures employees on leave are paid correctly.
  • Educates employees on benefit policies and procedures.
  • Manages multiple projects each year as part of policy and process maintenance and improvement.
  • Works with hiring management to ensure offers and requisitions are managed in the applicable applicant tracking system.
  • Drafts and processes status change forms for salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, and other employee status changes.
  • Conducts exit interviews and exit surveys. Analyzes trends and works with management to address trends.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and management coaching needs.
  • Participates in development, deployment, evaluation, and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of successful experience as a human resources business partner.
  • Prior experience in coaching and counseling management.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Positive attitude and team player.


Travel Expectations

  • Up to 10% travel is expected.

The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment for specific job duties to be performed. Such personal protective equipment may include, but not limited to safety eyewear, various types of respirators/breathing apparatus, lab coats, full protective body coverings, various types of gloves, etc.
