DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
As a Staff Physician, Intellectual Disabilities, you will be responsible for medical care and treatment of assigned individuals at Selinsgrove Center. Your duties will include a wide range of professional and interdisciplinary functions such as completing annual physical examination of residents and documenting interventions. In this position, you will monitor chronic illnesses, complete daily rounds, and write progress notes every 90 days. You can expect to become familiar with Medical Assistance and its standards, serve on committees as appointed, and participate in staff development. Additionally, you will meet with the psychologists to review records of residents receiving psychotropic medication. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- You will be on-call for weekend and evening on a rotation.
- Overtime as needed
- Free parking!
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of post-residency experience in the practice of medicine, including one year which involved a direct primary care caseload.
Special Requirements:
- All positions require possession of an active license to practice medicine in Pennsylvania issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine or Pennsylvania State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
- All employees must obtain an active registration to prescribe medication from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration as a condition of hire.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
