In this vital role, you will carry out a range of skilled and semi-skilled tasks related to plumbing operations, including the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of both aboveground and underground plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures. You will also ensure that tools and equipment are kept in proper working order by performing routine maintenance and making minor repairs, such as cleaning, oiling, and adjusting. All work will be completed in compliance with DMVA's general safety guidelines and specific safety rules for this position. Additionally, you will assess work methods and determine appropriate solutions for each assignment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years of experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing components and fixtures; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

• This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
• This position requires you to possess, at the time of application, or obtain, within 18 months of the date of hire, a valid certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater System Operators as a water or wastewater operator that is equal to or greater than Class E, Subclass 1. Certification must be continuously maintained for the duration of employment in the position.

Additional Requirements:

• You must pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

• Completion of formal training in the plumbing trade
• Previous experience as a plumber
• Previous experience in the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of water main breaks and the sanitizing of water mains due to main breaks
• Previous experience in the maintenance, repair, and/or replacement of underground water mains and/or sewage lines
• Previous experience in the installation and/or connection of service lines to water or sewage mains
• Previous experience working in hazardous conditions such as confined space, electrical currents, or chemical exposure
