Financial Accounting Analyst

LOCATION: Columbus, WI

SUMMARY: This position owns and assists in various accounting department duties (accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, costing, budgeting, account reconciliations, etc.). Tasks may vary depending on COE needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist with accounts payable activities (coding, entering and proofing of voucher packages).
  • Generate accounts payable checks, ACH, and communicate wire information to corporate as needed.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and work with internal teams to resolve issues within the three-way match of invoices for payment.
  • Manage the accounts receivable collection process. (Follow up on past due invoices, collection calls, conduct A/R meetings, etc.).
  • Assist with accounts receivable activities (material invoicing, cash application, intercompany reconciliations, special billing, etc.).
  • Month End Closing and Account Reconciliations.
  • Assist with annual budget process, external audit procedures, and other quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
  • Other special projects and duties as assigned.
  • Must have ability to be cross-trained and used to assist or backup other areas of accounting.
  • Possesses the ability and skillset to advance within the accounting department
Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field from four-year college or university plus 3 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Proven problem solver with excellent analytical skills
  • Experience and comfort with a variety of computer systems and exporting/analyzing data in Excel, including joining data from multiple sources.
  • Experience in operational accounting, manufacturing, and/or cost accounting
  • Enjoy a fast-paced environment and are dedicated to driving and achieving results

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
