Summary

Coordinates the data collection and ensures the presence of supporting documentation. Provides staff education to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines. Assumes responsibility for electronic submission and tracking the progress of all assessments.

Job Duties

  • Provides individualized education for all interdisciplinary team members regarding their role in the IRF-PAI process.
  • Provides resource utilization group information to ensure accurate patient billing.
  • Provides and maintains effective communication between the facility, hospital departments, physicians, and all levels of staff.
  • Assumes authority and accountability for the management of the practice in the facility and achievement of appropriate outcomes.
  • Verifies accuracy of IRF-PAI records and final feedback reports.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing or
  • Master's Degree in PT, OT, or SLP.
  • 2 years of experience at an inpatient rehabilitation facility, acute, or long-term care setting and
  • 2 years of experience with functional assessment tools (FIM, QI functional assessment tool).
  • Demonstrates effective leadership and professional demeanor.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving in the identification and resolution of issues and ensures appropriate and timely communication to all affected or involved healthcare team members.
  • Knowledge of inpatient rehabilitation regulations including Medicare rehabilitation and Medicare reimbursement regulations.
  • Knowledge of Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility-Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI).
  • RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or
  • PT - Licensed Physical Therapist - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or
  • OT - Licensed Occupational Therapist - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or
  • SLP - Licensed Speech Language Pathologist - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
