Title: Cost Analyst Location: Pascagoula, MS Position Overview: The Cost Analyst is responsible for all cost analysis and financial reporting within the organization. This role operates under the direction of the Division Controller and plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial oversight of programs and projects. Key Responsibilities: The following duties outline the core functions of the role but are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities: * Prepare and maintain all program financial reports, including: o Estimate at Completion (EAC) material variance reports o Change order log o Financial sections of monthly reports * Manage and track customer invoicing and ensure timely processing. * Prepare and monitor the cash flow report to optimize financial planning. * Identify and investigate discrepancies related to material, labor, purchase orders, invoices, and other job cost elements. * Report financial discrepancies to management and implement corrective actions as necessary. * Ensure accuracy and proper structure of the general ledger accounts. * Validate accounts payable (AP) invoice coding for accuracy and compliance. * Analyze cost components, including overhead and direct contract costs. * Identify anomalies in financial data and conduct root-cause analysis to ensure accuracy. * Communicate findings and corrective measures to management. * Collect, analyze, and validate payroll data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance. * Participate in the preparation, maintenance, processing, analysis and auditing of manual and automated payroll data, information, records and reports; ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll transactions. * Responsible for verifying and reconciling the financial data related to external labor costs, ensuring accuracy by comparing invoices, timecards, and other relevant documents from third-party vendors against internal records, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues with outside labor providers to maintain accurate financial reporting. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Strong expertise in cost collection and reporting methodologies. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for financial modeling and reporting. * Excellent analytical skills and the ability to detect and resolve financial discrepancies. * Strong communication skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. * Ability to conduct forensic investigations across multiple departments to track financial inconsistencies. * Skilled in compiling reports, analyzing financial trends, and providing strategic insights to management. Education & Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. * Prior experience in cost analysis, financial reporting, or a related field is highly preferred.
