Job Summary

This position consists of multiple responsibilities related to the Parking Department. This is skilled work under the direct supervision of the Manager of Parking and performs skilled functions in the day-to-day operations of the Parking Department. An employee in this position has certain directing and assisting responsibilities to the Parking Enforcement Monitors and office help. The employee is responsible for cash management to include daily deposits, daily recordkeeping and accounting functions of the Parking Department as well as other duties relating to parking pay stations and parking meters. This position is considered "essential personnel" and will be required to be able to respond to emergencies as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Prepares and maintains daily records for parking fines, parking garages, jury detail, "No Parking" Permits, Scofflaw, impoundment of vehicles, and MVA Release Forms.
- Processes payments and data entry for parking fines.
- Administers Residential Parking Program.
- Corresponds with MVA, rental agencies, State and government agencies.
- Submits paperwork for court hearings.
- Interacts with visitors to answer questions and provide departmental information. Addresses complaints relating to departmental procedures and operations, including meter disputes and complaints.
- Answers telephone calls, inventories and orders supplies.
- Processes and counts meter revenue and prepares deposits.
- Participates in the interview process and evaluations of Parking Enforcement Officers.
- Assists in troubleshooting computers, hand-held's and printers from Parking Program.
- Encodes data from reports received for computer input.
- Performs service and maintenance of automated revenue equipment in parking garages, parking meters and other equipment.
- Interacts with parking computer system on regular basis.
- Places and removes "No Parking" signs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with directing the Parking Enforcement Officers in Public Parking.
- Assists with the direction and provides support in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include assistance with interviewing, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES:
- Vehicle Operator's license with satisfactory driving record that meets insurability standards of the City's insurance carrier is required. The employee must maintain the license for the duration of their employment.
REQUIRED SKILLS (Communication/Language; Mathematical; Computer; etc.):
- Ability to speak and understand the English language.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to type 45 words per minute.
- Must be able to be bonded for the purpose of handling money.
