Controls Engineer - Ignition

Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer specializing in Ignition SCADA systems to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining advanced control systems that enhance our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Python, SQL, networking, and IT systems, coupled with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy SCADA systems, HMI applications, and web applications using Ignition for manufacturing environments.
• Develop and maintain web-based applications for remote monitoring and control of manufacturing processes.
• Integrate Ignition systems with SQL databases for efficient data management and analysis.
• Create custom modules, scripts, and applications using Python to meet specific manufacturing project requirements.
• Optimize system performance and implement best practices for security and reliability in industrial settings.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users in manufacturing facilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful automation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience developing and deploying Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA systems.
• Proficiency in Python scripting, including experience with Jython within the Ignition platform.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, including designing and deploying databases, developing stored procedures, and query optimization.
• Experience with networking concepts and IT systems relevant to industrial automation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze requirements and business situations.
• Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to change and work independently.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
