Description This position will initially be a hybrid, assisting with both quoting and sales responsibilities. Due to a colleague's leave, they will assist with quoting tasks while also handling business development and sales duties. The long-term goal is to focus on the sales role, but the immediate need is for quoting. Quoting Duties: Write, process, and send quotes for testing services Respond to all quote requests in a timely manner and provide excellent customer service Evaluate customer requests and provide guidance on services offered Follow up on quotes until they are resolved Initiate project coordination with the client, immediately upon receipt of the signed proposal Stay in contact with customers, upselling services until close Identify the reason behind all lost quotes Business development: Call on potential customers Call on qualified existing customers Participate in leadership-designated trade shows Participate in leadership-designated industry association meetings Assist in the identification of new opportunities for the continued growth of the company (i.e., help identify new pools of potential customers or new industries to serve) Prepare sales reports and forecasts Travel to industry meetings and client sites as needed Skills microsoft office, customer service, quoting Additional Skills & Qualifications Skills/Experience: General knowledge of laboratory testing and/or construction and manufacturing industries preferred Technical competence to effectively communicate the test procedure concepts, specifications, and results with customers Understanding of and experience with consensus standards (ASTM, ANSI, building codes, etc.) Strong customer service and communication skills (written and oral) Demonstrable competence in the command of the English language, including grammatical skills and ability to review and assist in the preparation of technical reports Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities Competence in math, science, and critical thinking skills, ability to identify and question illogical scenarios Must be proficient with computers, word processing (MS Word), spreadsheets (MS Excel), and presentations (MS PowerPoint) Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required Bachelors of Science degree, technical degree, or equivalent work experience 5+ years of directly related experience in a service discipline Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a clean driving record Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
