Description
The Center for Free Enterprise (CFE) in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University (located in Morgantown, WV) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position starting in August 2024. The position will involve research under Dr. Alicia Plemmons, focusing on topics related to economics- specifically in relation to the interactions between markets and society. In terms of research duties, the Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to lead independent research projects and collaborate with faculty and doctoral students in the Chambers College, with the goal of publishing in reputed journals in economics or related fields (e.g., management, entrepreneurship, information systems). While the position does not have formal teaching requirements, the fellow will be expected to attend graduate student seminars and work with graduate students involved in outreach and policy evaluation. The Postdoctoral Fellow will also be required to assist in leading the CFE student reading groups. The Postdoctoral Fellow will have the opportunity to collaborate with scholars within the Center for Free Enterprise, under the discretion and direction of Dr. Alicia Plemmons. Candidates with a Ph.D. in economics and related fields (e.g., management, entrepreneurship, political science, sociology). Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position and start date are subject to budget approval. Qualifications
Qualified candidates must hold, at the time of appointment, a Ph.D. in economics, management, entrepreneurship, information systems, or a healthcare-related discipline with coursework in statistical methods and policy evaluation. Ph.D. candidates in the advanced stages of their dissertation will also be considered, but they must have earned their Ph.D. before the start date of this position.
