The Water Business Unit of Ramboll is seeking full-time Entry-Level Engineering Consultants to join our Westford and Boston, MA offices. The appropriately qualified applicant will perform engineering tasks specific to design and permitting work in the areas of industrial wastewater, storm water, and water resources projects. To succeed in this role, you must have 0 to 5 years' relevant experience and a strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, customer relations, and teamwork. You will join our Water & Wastewater Engineering Department

As our new Engineer, you will be part of a team dedicated to working with industrial clients to deliver a wide range of water-related projects, which will include industrial wastewater planning and design, permitting and design for industrial storm water management, and may include water resources planning.

Typical responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing preliminary and detailed engineering design of industrial wastewater treatment systems
  • Conducting treatability laboratory experiments, pilot scale testing, industrial field work
  • Participating in treatment plant operations and troubleshooting
  • Focusing on discharge impacts on receiving water studies
  • Supporting wastewater and stormwater permitting efforts
  • Assisting senior staff with preparing proposals and reports
  • Monitoring the construction phase of projects
  • Supporting stormwater management programs
  • Conducting sampling events (stormwater, wastewater) in various site settings
  • Performing engineering calculations
  • Developing hydrologic and hydraulic models
  • Assisting senior staff with preparing proposals and technical reports, including compiling analytical data
  • Conducting travel/field work (daytime and overnight, usually in U.S.)

  • Ability to obtain Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) needed for access to some industrial facilities.

Required Education

  • Successful candidates will have an ABET accredited engineering degree in civil, chemical, environmental, or mechanical fields. Advanced degrees a plus.
  • EIT certification preferred
  • On track to take PE licensure exam or existing PE licensure a plus.

Required Experience

  • Candidates must be willing to travel possess a valid driver's license. Travel may include overnight stay and may be out of state or international.
  • Valid driver's license required

The physical requirements of this position may include the need for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing/sitting/walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs. In certain situations, this position may expose the candidate to extremes in weather (hot/cold); high noise levels, to hazards such as a proximity to moving machine parts and moving vehicles, electrical current and exposure to chemicals. Employees may be required to take specific training and to wear PPE on some occasions.
