Job Description

General Summary:

Seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage various aspects of the general ledger process and actively support the Company's continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on system and process excellence.

The Manager of General Ledger Accounting will work closely with members of the accounting department and relevant stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, with key responsibilities including ownership of various underlying subledgers and month end close activities. The Manager is responsible for collaborating effectively within the global and geographically dispersed accounting and finance organizations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day activities of general ledger accounting team including Oracle subledgers and third-party applications in areas of responsibility.
  • Supervise assigned month end close activities to ensure accuracy, including reconciliation of discrepancies to the general ledger and automated processes for RPA.
  • Ownership of various complex accounting reconciliations and journal entries for the month end and quarterly close.
  • Collaborate across multiple teams to develop, improve and test financial report enhancements for recently implemented Oracle Project Accounting ("OPA") and resolve issues post go-live to facilitate disease area and enterprise-wide reporting.
  • Communicate new GL technology enhancements and process developments across the Global Accounting and Finance organization.
  • Prepare SOX documentation and testing and provide and interpret audit requests and quarterly footnote and disclosure deliverables with the internal/external audit and SEC reporting teams.
  • Foster an environment that creates "best practice" processes and systems and challenge current practices to locate efficiencies.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of a range of accounting (US GAAP, IFRS) and finance processes
  • Accounting and financial system experience, especially Oracle, Blackline, HFM
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders and external partners
  • Demonstrated experience with subledger accounting, month end close, journal entries and system integrations.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Experience managing accounting/finance process improvement and/or technology projects with time sensitive deliverables.
  • Experience in identifying and suggesting areas for process improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of SOX compliance requirements.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
  • Qualified Accountant (CPA) from a professional practice background.
  • Requires 5+ years of progressive, relevant finance and accounting experience.
  • Big 4 experience and pharmaceuticals industry experience are strongly preferred.

Pay Range:

$108,000 - $162,000

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
