American Modern Insurance Group is recruiting for Field Catastrophe (CAT) Adjusters to join our growing team! We have multiple openings in Las Vegas, NV, Dallas, TX, Houston, TX, Austin, TX, Charlotte, NC or Oklahoma City, OK. Candidates must be located in one of these areas. As a CAT Adjuster, you will be working the frontlines of our business, supporting customers, in times of need and disaster. CAT deployments can last up to 3 weeks at a time and can be deployed across the United States. Occasionally, adjusters may handle day to day property claims when not on catastrophe deployment.

In this role, you will:

  • Travel to catastrophe areas to evaluate, negotiate and settle property claims resulting from natural disasters in various geographic locations
  • Perform field inspection of damages to determine coverage as well as including investigation, documentation, coverage analysis, estimation development and subrogation/salvage assessment.
  • Primarily responsible for the interpretation and assessment of coverage on a claim.
  • Conduct appropriate investigations based upon the severity and complexity of the claim involved.
  • Drives the claim from First Notice Of Loss (FNOL) to final disposition assuring that each claim is properly documented and compliant pursuant to state mandated requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Previous property claims experience
  • Ability to scope, diagram and estimate property damages
  • Mobile home and Dwelling construction knowledge preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work/industry experience
  • A clean driving record and a valid driver's license (required)
  • Ability to perform physical inspections; i.e. climb roofs, craw spaces
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, set-up, ascend and descend ladders in excess of 40 pounds.
  • Proficiency in Symbility, Xactimate or similar estimating platform experience
  • Demonstrated negotiation, investigation, communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Industry training, coursework, certifications are preferred. (INS, AIC, SCLA, or other industry recognized designation)
  • Ability to travel on short notice and be prepared to work extended hours during peak periods or in response to catastrophic events.

The base salary range anticipated for this position is $55,000 - $75,000; plus bonus pay for CAT deployments and the opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees listed above. The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
