About the role

Equipment Operator: Day Shift, M-F 7:30am - 4:00pm

The Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of light-duty mobile and fixed equipment to support daily waste handling and processing operations at a Reworld Waste facility. This role plays a vital part in ensuring proper material flow, site cleanliness, and compliance with company and regulatory standards, while contributing to our mission of driving sustainable waste solutions.

• Operate light equipment such as skid steers, forklifts, small front-end loaders, and utility carts in a safe and effective manner.

• Load, unload, transport, and stage materials, waste streams, and recyclables across the facility.

• Perform routine equipment checks, fueling, and minor preventive maintenance; report mechanical issues promptly.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area by removing debris and following housekeeping standards.

• Support waste processing activities including sorting, compacting, and container movement.

• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and operational procedures.

• Follow daily instructions and schedules as provided by supervisors or plant managers.

• Assist with site compliance documentation (e.g., equipment logs, pre-op checklists).

• Use proper PPE and follow all safety protocols, including hazard recognition and reporting.

• Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the operation.

• Valid driver's license required.

• 1-2 years of experience operating light industrial equipment preferred.

• Knowledge of workplace safety practices and procedures.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments (e.g., dusty, noisy, or outdoors).

• Strong attention to detail, time management, and team collaboration skills.

• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred

• Forklift Certification

• Skid Steer or Equipment-Specific Training

Physical Demands of the Role:

• Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb

• Ability to lift/carry 50lbs

• Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces

• Qualify to wear a full-face respirator

• Consistently work in various weather conditions

This position's expected hourly pay rate is $24.00 -$26.00.

This is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The final salary figure will take into account various factors, including experience, ability, and location. Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and these ranges should not be considered career salary limits or caps.
