About the role The Sr. IT Program Manager is accountable for the planning and roadmap of technology projects for the Law and Compliance Department. The Program manager will work with multiple IT teams across the Enterprise accountable for the development and improvement of Symetra applications that support critical business functions and Law and Compliance priorities! What you will do
- Partner with all levels of the enterprise.
- Partner with engineering and product leaders across the Technology organization.
- Partner with department leaders to review areas of risk, may work with Vendor management.
- Provide deep insight into the collaborator's business and priorities.
- Ensure that an end-to-end solution is provided in the context of an overall long-term roadmap.
- Develop a comprehensive solution plan.
- Articulate to the business and IT stakeholders the merits and risks of the plan.
- Hold others accountable to drive programs/projects to on-scope, timely, and on budget delivery within an Agile environment.
- Proactively inspire change and manage change with limited friction.
- Champion change in Business and IT Processes and can think though the end user impact of technology projects.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 10 years of project management experience with:
- High level strategic initiative projects
- Mergers & Acquisitions, Investments
- Annuities and/or life insurance product
- Strong understanding of the project cycle and project methodologies through project management courses and practical business experience.
- Strong planning, influencing and people management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated excellent leadership, diplomatic, negotiating, management, supervisory and staff development skills.
- Master's degree or Masters Certificate in Project Management preferred.
- PMP certification preferred
- Benefits Insurance experience is a plus
- Proven track record in change management and process optimization.
- Experience with customer invoicing and payment processes
- Ability to communicate optimally with various stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
