With operations in California, Oregon, and Pennsylvania, we manufacture softwood and hardwood lumber, particleboard, and hardboard siding.

Position Summary:

The Forestry Technician assists with all aspects of forest land management on the FSC certified, 118-thousand-acre Collins Pennsylvania Forest.

Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Comply with safety standards at all times and correct/report any observed safety hazards.
  • Perform timber marking, boundary line maintenance, tree planting, GPS data collection, and invasive species treatments (mechanical and herbicide).
  • Keep detailed records of all tasks.
  • Work independently in remote locations with little supervision.
  • Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
  • On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.


Required Skills and Abilities:



  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a team.
  • Strong sense of environmental stewardship and willingness to promote the integrity of the company.
  • Basic understanding of maps preferred.
  • Ability to identify forest plants preferred.
  • Ability to keep detailed records and maps.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Report.


Education and Experience:



  • Associate degree in forestry or a related field, minimum.
  • Field forestry experience preferred.


Environmental Conditions:

May be exposed to rough terrain, dust, noise, trip hazards, pesticides, and extreme temperature and weather conditions.

Required Personal Protective Equipment:

Individuals must be willing to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Positions may require additional PPE at specific times. Examples of PPE which may be required include high visibility garments, hand protection, eye protection, hearing protection, a hard hat, foot protection, a face shield, and a respirator.
