Position Information

Venable LLP's Technology & Innovation Group seeks a Senior Privacy Analyst, Regulatory Response to join the Venable Blue team in the Washington, D.C. or New York office. The Senior Privacy Analyst, Regulatory Response works on project delivery related to privacy program management, privacy operations, and regulatory response. This is a non-attorney position.

In this role you will support clients in the development, maintenance, and operationalization of privacy Safeguards, support internal and external regulatory responses related to the client privacy programs, and serve as a trusted partner in privacy program development while helping clients navigating the complex regulatory environment.

The Senior Privacy Analyst, Regulatory Response will oversee and ensure delivery across project workstreams.

Key responsibilities

Privacy Safeguard Development and Maintenance:



  • Work and manage relationships with cross functional teams to develop privacy related safeguards.
  • Manage and support the maintenance of Privacy Safeguards with cross functional teams.
  • Understand adjacent operational processes that impact safeguards and adjust processes as needed.
  • Collaborate with multiple cross functional stakeholders to both develop and implement these safeguards.


Privacy Program Management:



  • Define scope and requirements, analyze data, and develop strategic recommendations for program and operational execution.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of business processes for all aspects of established safeguards.


Audit Response:



  • Support internal and external audit operations in support of a robust privacy program.
  • Provide and oversee responses to internal and external audit related requests for evidence about program and operational effectiveness of the program and relevant Safeguards.
  • Create and maintain documentation to facilitate both audit operations and the execution of all workstreams.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5 years minimum work experience in Privacy, Consulting, or related client-facing field.
  • Excellent project management skills to both design and implement new programs.
  • 3 years of hands-on privacy experience in technology sector; combination of private sector and government experience acceptable.
  • Excellent project and team leadership skills including managing workflow to successfully complete deliverables and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for stakeholders across seniority level including executive leadership.
  • Strong attention to detail, highly determined, and results oriented.
  • Executive presence and ability to lead, manage, or coordinate cross-functional teams across multi-functional stakeholder teams.
  • Critical thinking and ability to perform well under pressure and ambiguous situations.
  • Experience in Metrics/Data-Driven reporting.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Data Visualization, Data Cleaning, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Google Drive tools (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).


Preferred Qualifications



  • MBA or Master's degree.
  • Prior experience in privacy program management and/or regulatory compliance.
  • Technical writing experience.

The salary range for Senior Privacy Analyst positions is $110,000 - $140,000 per year. This is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
