Shift:Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm * Base Pay Range: $19.15 - $30.23/hour, based on experience
MU Health Care is in search of a dedicated Reimbursement Assistant to join our Blood & Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program (BMTCT) team. We're looking for someone who can meticulously extract data and apply ICD-9 CM and CPT procedure codes for accurate billing. You'll play a pivotal role in coordinating billing and collections with external agencies, addressing potential issues through audits, and acting as a liaison between departments and payers. Your ability to interpret healthcare documentation to ensure accurate claims is essential. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Assist in the presentation of training sessions for residents and staff to inform them of changes made to Medicare billing, federal laws and regulations, and other specific standards and guidelines regarding clinical documentation requirements, procedure and diagnosis coding.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS An associate degree in medical coding, medical office technology or other medical related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Two years of medical related experience with knowledge of medical terminology, one of which in medical coding experience, is preferred.
