JOB SUMMARY (How you will make an Impact)

Genfare is adiverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact.The Sr. Software Engineer(DevOps) will research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

While each day brings new opportunities at Genfare, your core responsibilities will be to ensure the following:

  • Update software or enhance existing software capabilities.
  • Work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems, and develop specifications and performance requirements.
  • Maintain databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.
  • Support and maintain existing on-prem back office data and reporting systems.
  • Assist with designing and implementing data pipelines along with a comprehensive set of BI reports for our next generation cloud-reporting platform.
  • Translating business needs and customer requirements into technical specifications.
  • Take ownership of technical solutions from the design and architecture perspective for projects in presales phase as well as on-going projects.
  • Review the architectural/technological solutions for ongoing projects and ensure right choice of solution.
  • Work closely with the customer support team and clients to troubleshoot and address field issues in a timely manner.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Computer Information Systems or related field. Employer will accept equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Requires experience (5 years with Bachelor's or 3 years with Master's).
  • Must have some experience in each of the following skills: Developing and supporting applications written in PowerBuilder. SQL including writing stored procedures, functions and views for Sybase, Oracle and MSSQL. Gathering end user requirements and writing technical documentation. Analyzing customer requirements and using warehouse data to generate reports to support business decision-making and performance monitoring. AWS stack including QuickSight, Redshift, and Glue. InstallShield to create msi packages for windows installation. Big Data virtualization frameworks: Denodo and Hudi. Transit for Automated Fare collection reporting. Migrating Legacy Power Builder application to a cloud hosted backoffice solution.

As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $148,949 - $158,949 per year and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate's experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus, subject to the rules governing the plan. SPX offers a variety of benefits, including health benefits, 401K retirement with a company match, and flexible time off.
