The Associate Business Analyst will perform review and analysis of data, processes or workflow as requested by Billing Management. Collaborates with other departments and team members to find resolution for billing issues of any type. Communicates well, able to explain research and findings to management. May be utilized as a training resource within the department or to external customers.

Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

If you are located in Tampa, FL, Greensboro, NC, Newtown Square, PA, Atlanta, GA, or Roanoke, VA, area you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Schedule and ad hoc auditing of various systems and databases
  • Process review, data analysis and measurement
  • Preparation of reports as needed by management
  • Identification and communication of billing and reimbursement issues to management
  • Prepares and coordinates presentations, trainings, etc; used as an educational resource
  • Implementation of new technologies and processes (includes testing and follow up)
  • May involve some interfacing with clients, managed care customers, IT resources and others when needed
  • Assignment of special projects as needed

Required Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of experience in billing, insurance and third-party receivables or clinical laboratory healthcare industry and / or database experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Word (creating and editing documents), Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar), Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas (vlookup, xlookup, match, etc..), and Microsoft Access (pulling database data and queries)
  • Must reside in Tampa, FL, Greensboro, NC, Newtown Square, PA, Atlanta, GA, or Roanoke, VA



Preferred Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of experience in billing, insurance and third-party receivables or clinical laboratory healthcare industry and / or database experience
  • Experience with SQL (manipulating data and queries)
  • Experience with QBS billing systems or other enterprise billing systems
  • Knowledgeable about billing practices and process management concepts - this may include knowledge of Test pricing and CPT coding or reimbursement processes, 3rd party provider enrollments, claims submissions, EDI and HIPAA transactions and/or accounts receivables


Telecommuting Requirements:



  • Must reside in Tampa, FL Greensboro, NC, Newtown Square, PA, Atlanta, GA, or Roanoke, VA
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

The hourly range for this role is $23.70 to $46.35 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
