Join STV's growing North Carolina team! STV's North Carolina operation is seeking a Structural Engineering Specialist (Bridge Design) to join our collaborative team in the Charlotte, NC office. This is an exciting opportunity to work on impactful transportation projects while learning from seasoned engineers and gaining hands-on experience in both design and construction support.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform structural design and analysis for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other transportation-related structures
  • Develop construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and calculations
  • Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs (Requests for Information) during construction
  • Conduct field inspections and contribute to structural assessments
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on planning, design, and construction projects
  • Participate in meetings with clients and stakeholders and help prepare presentation materials

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Familiarity with structural engineering concepts and analysis methods
  • Exposure to design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, OpenRoads, or Civil3D
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Strong desire to learn, solve real-world problems, and contribute to community-focused projects

Bonus Points for:

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
  • Prior experience with Microstation
  • Prior design experience or internships

Compensation Range:

$55,640.14 - $74,186.85
