JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Job Summary:
Penn State University is seeking a detail-oriented and fashion-savvy Professional Closet Intern to join the Career Services team. The intern will assist with maintaining and organizing the university's professional wardrobe for internships, career fairs, networking events, etc., ensuring all clothing aligns with Penn State's standards. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in fashion, entrepreneurship, or communications to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic academic setting.The hourly rate for this position is $12/hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the organization, cataloging, and management of the university's professional wardrobe, including clothing, accessories, and footwear.

  • Ensure that clothing selections align with Penn State's visual identity and branding standards for professional imagery.

  • Assist students in preparing wardrobe options, coordinating outfits, and ensuring all garments are properly maintained.

  • Assist with tracking inventory and maintaining the cleanliness and condition of all clothing items in the professional closet.

  • Manage the Professional Attire inbox (cspac@psu.edu), answering questions and daily corresponding with students, faculty, alumni and the community.

  • Stay up to date on trends in professional attire and recommend clothing choices that reflect Penn State's image and culture.

  • Provide general support to the Events and Programs team for related projects as needed.

  • As part of the role, the Professional Attire Intern may also assist with our professional headshot service, ensuring students have access to both appropriate attire and the opportunity to capture a polished, professional image during peak times or when there is short staffing.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

  • Interest in fashion styling, entrepreneurship, business, or philanthropy is a plus.

  • Knowledge of fashion trends and professional attire.

  • Proficiency in basic computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite).

  • Ability to handle and maintain high-quality clothing with care.

  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to always maintain a professional demeanor.

  • Learn how to work within a large organization to uphold brand identity and standards.

  • Develop skills in client interaction, project coordination, and time management.
