LMI is seeking a strategic, proactive Deputy Technical Program Manager to support LMI's Department of Veteran's Affairs account. In this role, you'll lead Agile teams, manage complex technical projects, and work directly with clients to deliver meaningful, mission-focused solutions. You'll serve as a trusted advisor, bringing clarity to complexity and helping shape strategy as well as execution.

Responsibilities

    Lead Agile project teams to deliver high-quality outcomes that align with client goals and broader mission objectives.
  • Understand and articulate the "why" behind every project-ensuring that tactical work supports strategic intent.
  • Build strong partnerships with clients to define priorities, navigate challenges, and anticipate needs before they arise.
  • Drive thoughtful planning and execution, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and timelines are met with precision.
  • Monitor performance and proactively identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Serve as a key communicator-translating complex technical or operational information into clear, actionable updates for stakeholders.
  • Mentor team members, foster collaboration, and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Lead staffing activities including recruiting, onboarding, and resource planning.
  • Prepare briefing charts, schedule meetings, keep records and record minutes, prepare after-action reports in support of technical reviews.
  • Ensure program compliance with government and corporate policies and mandates, and adherence to directives from governing entities.
  • Support business development and bid and proposal efforts for opportunities, bringing together capabilities across LMI to define a solution that meets and exceeds client expectations.
  • Communicate proactively with the Senior Program Manager to identify potential issues and/or areas for project growth.
  • Present program status updates to Senior Leadership, under the guidance of the Senior Program Manager.
  • Support Senior Program Manager with administrative activities such as Project Portal updates, project setup, financial reviews, and other activities as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 8+ years of consulting experience
  • Scrum Master certification with hands-on Agile team leadership
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills-you see patterns, anticipate impacts, and align work to big-picture goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills-you tailor your message to the audience and make complex ideas clear
  • Demonstrated leadership in diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Ability to mentor, motivate, and elevate others
  • High degree of initiative and accountability-you don't wait to be told, you act
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Master's degree or PMP certification
  • Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps
  • Experience leading teams delivering digital or technical solutions

Target salary range: $99,000 - $171,000
