KPMG is currently seeking a Director, MDM to join KPMGsTechnology practice.

Responsibilities

  • Lead MDM and Data Governance Initiatives to integrate master data across systems, managing lifecycle phases and coordinating teams of 5 to 25 members.
  • Drive strategies using sector-specific knowledge to design and implement MDM and data governance solutions, aiding clients in understanding the broader MDM journey.
  • Present best practices for data strategy and governance, MDM, data management controls, and modern architectures on various platforms in discussions with business executives.
  • Leverage experience across industries such as Financial Services, Insurance, Consumer & Retail, Energy & Chemicals, Manufacturing, Telecommunications, and Technology.
  • Deliver solutions for clients in Financial Services (e.g., banking, capital markets, Finance, Risk, Treasury, Regulatory & Compliance), emphasizing industry-specific expertise.
  • Ensure data quality and compliance through MDM and data governance principles, maintaining relevancy, quality, security, and compliance of master data.
  • Build client relationships by engaging in data-driven design and review of MDM/data governance target operating models tailored to each organization.
  • Assess and enhance MDM maturity levels by developing structured capability enhancement strategies and effectively communicating concepts to non-technical team members.
  • Address business challenges by applying MDM and data governance concepts, leading workshops, and evaluating readiness for data governance strategies.
  • Develop requirements for MDM frameworks and tools; advocate platform adoption (e.g., Informatica MDM, Reltio, Profisee), and lead technical design, project leadership, managing risks, delivering updates, ensuring successful execution, and cultivating strong client relationships.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of eight years of experience in MDM and data governance or a similar field within a professional services firm, internal strategy/EDM group, or comparable environment; experience in strategy and/or data management consulting is highly valued.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative field from an accredited institution (Master's or MBA preferred), with expertise in master data management, data governance, data quality, metadata management, data architecture, and enterprise data management principles.
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing MDM solutions along with non-invasive data governance strategies.
  • Proven design and implementation experience with MDM tools and technologies (e.g., Informatica, Reltio, SAP MDG, IBM InfoSphere). Certifications in MDM tools are a plus.
  • Industry certifications such as CDMP, CIMP in MDM, CIMP in Data Governance, DGSP, or DCAM are highly desirable.
  • Strong business consulting acumen in MDM and data governance principles to solve business issues, with an understanding of business operations, processes, and master data compliance requirements while demonstrating an ability to manage engagements and interface with senior management internally and with clients, with significant experience in project management, client management, and executive communication.
  • Deep sector-specific or process-specific experience in MDM and data governance strategy, including best practices and regulatory drivers.
  • Strategic thinker with outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects in a time.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities, and travel as needed.
