Description
The Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist is responsible for assessing, designing, fabricating, fitting, and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices. They collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and device functionality when treating patients with limb loss, limb impairment, neuromuscular conditions, or skeletal conditions of the spine and extremities. The role involves evaluating patient needs, creating individualized treatment solutions, and providing ongoing support to enhance patient's mobility, independence, and quality of life. This is a full-time position working M-F from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm working out of our Edina MN Drive location. Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to determine their prosthetic or orthotic needs, considering their physical condition, lifestyle, and functional goals.
- Develop customized prosthetic or orthotic treatment plans tailored to individual patients, considering their unique conditions and requirements.
- Design and facilitate fabrication of prostheses or orthoses using advanced materials and technologies, ensuring precise measurements and quality craftsmanship.
- Accurately fit prosthetic devices to patients and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper alignment, comfort, and functionality.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment options, care, maintenance, and proper usage to maximize effectiveness of care.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and optimize patient outcomes.
- Provide ongoing follow-up care, support, and adjustments to prosthetic devices to address patients' evolving needs and ensure optimal functionality.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in prosthetics and orthotics to enhance service quality and patient care.
- Adhere to professional standards, applicable laws, regulations, company policies/procedures, and business ethics.
- Stay up to date with advancements in techniques, materials, and technologies through ongoing education and training.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including assessment findings, treatment plans, device specifications, and progress notes for accurate billing on all assigned patients.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, company policies/procedures, and business ethics.
- All other duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements: Ability to:

- Work in the clinic during business hours
- Travel independently throughout the clinic (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping, or sitting for long periods of time may be required

- Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
