Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an excellent opportunity for a civilian Front Desk Clerk at the ATAMMC (Dumfries Ambulatory Health Center) - in Dumfries, Virginia. This opportunity will support active military members, veterans and their dependents.

This position provides a variety of receptionist and other clerical duties in support of patient care and treatment.

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours a week) Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 1500pm.

Job Duties:

  1. Perform receptionist duties and other various clerical tasks to assist staff members as necessary.
  1. Answer inquiries, verify and obtain information for general public, customers, visitors and other interested parties and update the Data system if needed.
  2. Screen walk-in patients to determine purpose of visit and eligibility for treatment. Explain clinic appointment procedures and coordinate walk-in appointments with health care provider. Observe patient for obvious signs of discomfort, illness or distress and notify professional staff of perceived emergencies.
  3. Answer telephone, obtain identifying information and determine the urgency of the call. Refer c
  4. Call to appropriate staff member. Take messages. Apply clinic guidelines concerning release of patient information. Transfer misdirected calls to the appropriate number.
  5. Explain delays in schedules as appropriate. Attempt to resolve clinic complaints of an administrative nature and refer other complaints to appropriate authority. Provide requested information and assistance to patients whenever possible; refer them to other appropriate sources for information if necessary.
  6. Perform various other clerical tasks to assist staff members. For example, assure providers have their appointment rosters and administrative medical records and use computer terminal to obtain requested patient information.
  7. Maintain/stock forms needed at front desk.
  8. Assist with other duties as needed and assigned.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited High School or GED
  • Current BLS certification
  • Must furnish immunizations
  • Must be a U.S citizen (proof required)
