Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and skilled professional to fill the role of Assistant Port Engineer / NSE Analyst. This position combines responsibilities related to assisting with port engineering activities and NSE management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and logistics, with a focus on efficiency, safety, and quality. As the Assistant Port Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth operations, maintaining equipment, and managing inventory. Competencies:
Supervisory responsibilities: The Assistant Port Engineer / NSE Analyst will assume supervisory responsibility for the assigned ship group during the work week when the lead port engineer is on leave, or unavailable. During these circumstances, the assistant port engineer shall have supervisory responsibilities for the assigned crewmembers and for all subcontractors working onboard the ship. Required education and experience: Bachelor of Science in: Marine Engineering or Naval / Marine Architecture or Mechanical Engineering.
Travel required: 10% Work environment: The primary work location for this position will be stationed onboard one of the ships within the assigned ship group. These ships are moored at an assigned lay berth facility for majority of time. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Performing these duties acknowledges the possible dangers onboard vessels such as safely maneuvering throughout a vessel - i.e. ladders/staircases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, noise level exposure can increase during visits to the vessels. Work may involve occasional work near moving mechanical parts and exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. Therefore, adhering to all necessary safety precautions and wearing required personal protective equipment to mitigate the potential risk of injury and prevention of hazards shall be followed.
