Network Engineer (Cisco)

Job Title: Network Engineer

Location: 100% Onsite - Springfield, MA

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 (Based on experience)

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Network Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team in Springfield, MA. This is a 100% onsite role where you will be responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining our enterprise network, with a strong focus on Cisco technologies-including Nexus and Catalyst switches. The ideal candidate will have experience managing core network infrastructure in a high-availability environment and a passion for solving complex networking challenges.

  Deploy, configure, and maintain Cisco network devices, including Nexus switches, Catalyst switches, and routers

  
  
• 
  

  Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to ensure reliability and security

  
  
• 
  

  Manage VLANs, STP, port channels, HSRP, and other Layer 2/3 protocols

  
  
• 
  

  Collaborate with systems administrators, security teams, and other engineers to support enterprise infrastructure

  
  
• 
  

  Create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and change management records

  
  
• 
  

  Participate in network projects such as upgrades, expansions, and integrations

  
  

• 
  

  5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering roles

  
  
• 
  

  Strong hands-on expertise with Cisco Nexus and Catalyst platforms

  
  
• 
  

  Proficient in Layer 2/3 networking concepts and protocols (VLANs, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, STP, etc.)

  
  
• 
  

  Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, NetFlow, etc.)

  
  
• 
  

  Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills

  
  
• 
  

  Strong communication skills and ability to work independently onsite

  
  

• 
  

  Experience with Palo Alto firewalls (configuration, rule management, troubleshooting)

  
  
• 
  

  Familiarity with Aruba wireless networks or ClearPass

  
  
• 
  

  Cisco certification (CCNA, CCNP) or equivalent knowledge
