Crater / Packer

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a first shift (6AM - 2:30PM) Crater/Packer based in Chino, CA. The Crater/Packer is responsible for assembling boxes and crates used for shipping equipment and products for safe and effective shipment by wrapping and crating items as appropriate.

HOURLY HIRING RANGE: $18/hr. - $20/hr. plus mandatory overtime as needed (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Build wooden crate around large or odd-shaped articles using pre-assembled materials
• Read blueprint, work order, and other specifications, and inspects product to determine size and shape of container, materials to be used, and types of supports and braces to be used
• Assemble materials using handheld pneumatic staple and nail gun
• Place product in container, manually or using hoist
• Wrap and pad product with cardboard, foam, or other packing material
• Wraps and tightens metal bands around crate, using banding equipment
• May operate chop saw or roto sander to modify material or products

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Proficient with simple hand tools and pneumatic gun
• Ability to lift and move material and parts up to 50lbs unassisted
• Ability to move in a variety of ways including standing, squatting, stretching, and bending, as needed to build large crates and boxes
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
