The targeted hiring range for this full-time position is $57,600 - $77,800 depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and job location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, competencies, experience, and relevant education, training or a combination of these things and market demand. Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Analyst to join our growing tax team, with a focus on ensuring tax compliance for our company across multiple jurisdictions. This role will apply technical tax expertise to play a key part in preparing tax filings, assisting in audits, and providing tax advice to support business decisions that contribute to the company's strategic and operational goals.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file accurate and timely sales & use tax, income tax, and other indirect tax returns across multiple jurisdictions, applying knowledge of current tax laws and regulations.
  • Analyze and reconcile tax accounts and ensure accurate tax reporting on financial statements.
  • Maintain compliance with all tax deadlines and reporting requirements, using judgement to prioritize and manage complex filing obligations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for external audits and tax authority inquiries, independently researching and preparing responses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tax-efficient processes and compliance.
  • Support the implementation, optimization and maintenance of tax compliance software and tools.
  • Leverage tax automation tools and data analytics to identify process improvements and drive operational efficiency.
  • Maintain internal controls and support processes to enhance tax reporting efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess potential impact on the company.

Work Environment:

  • Typical office environment with occasional extended work hours as needed.
  • Hybrid work flexibility (on-site and remote).
  • Minimal travel required.
Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in tax compliance, preferably in a retail or multi-state environment.
  • Strong understanding of sales & use tax, state/local tax regulations, and retail tax issues.
  • Experience with tax software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Infor, Vertex, Avalara).

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; experience working with large datasets.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and implement solutions.
  • High professional standards and integrity.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing multiple tasks.
