About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Lead Maintenance Mechanic will work as part of a team to maintain, diagnose, and repair all types of power plant equipment. The Lead Maintenance Mechanic will work with the Maintenance Supervisor to lead the Maintenance team and to plan, prioritize, and assign work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform various mechanical, maintenance and repair work including the inspection and maintenance work required for rotating machinery and equipment.
  • Inspect and adjust the mechanical alignment of pumps, replace or rebuild pumps, replace fan bearings, replace motors, repair screw conveyors, rebuild or change gearboxes, install and modify pipe lines, and assist in the modification and addition of plant projects.
  • Performs general building maintenance required in the facility.
  • Perform rigging for disassembly and or assembly of plant equipment.
  • Perform welding for repairs of piping, tubes, shafts, structural repair and fabrication.
  • Maintains work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner. Complies with all health and safety policies, procedures, practices and regulations.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Five years of relevant experience in the repair and maintenance of industrial plant equipment.
  • Must be able to communicate well with groups or individuals to solve problems.
  • Must be able to prioritize work based on plant production requirements.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
  • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
  • Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
  • Consistently work in various weather conditions
Schedule:

Schedule is Monday through Friday 6am-2:30pm for normal operations; for outages hours will be 12-hour shift may include nights
