Position Summary |
This position is responsible for leading the Tier 2 support team to provide excellent customer service, resolve highly complex issues, design and implement large scale end user computing and classroom technology projects. This applicant will be resourceful in solving complex problems with unknown solutions. A problem-solving attitude is critical, with an ability to motivate direct reports, managers, peers, and student workers within the
OIT organization. This position will work closely with Terry's Tier 1 Support, Endpoint Management, Infrastructure, and Facilities teams. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Windows and Mac Operating Systems, Microsoft's Entra, Intune, Active Directory and group policy, wired and wireless network technology and troubleshooting, standard applications utilized on these platforms including installation, functionality, and troubleshooting, standardization practices including computer imaging, software packaging and network distribution of software.
- Functional knowledge of AV systems design, digital projectors, and web conferencing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communications skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsible for the success of Tier 2 support response to faculty, staff, and classroom IT support requests and resolution of new and unknown problems.
- Conduct root cause analysis on new and unknown problems. Develop workarounds or permanent solutions. Document resolutions and train Tier 1 team to handle similar future incidents.
- Manage vendor relations to ensure effective procurement, service, and retirement of end user computing resources. Facilitate the ordering and standardization of computers and equipment.
- Manage imaging processes for new and reassigned end user computing devices.
- Manage software packaging and distribution processes.
- Oversee Account Management for Adobe and Zoom.
- Respond to technical emergencies as needed.
- Supervise onboarding and offboarding tasks.

Lead Projects involving end user computing, classroom technology, and research computing implementations. Coordination, development, and implementation. Oversee and manage unique, technical projects for the benefit of faculty and staff. Projects tend to involve specialized fields of expertise related to technology for meeting the goals and objectives for projects, grants, experiments, and other initiatives. Current examples:
- Design and implement large-scale end user computing upgrades and classroom technology refresh.
- Work with Infrastructure, Endpoint Manager, and Tier 1 team to implement change.
- Evaluate new products and services. Present recommendations for improved effectiveness of college end user computing productivity and support.
