Position Summary

The Senior. Manager, S&P Survey plays a pivotal role in supporting the Survey & Positioning Solutions Lead, overseeing the business unit's international operations in the Americas. This position is crucial in ensuring that key operational, strategic, and financial objectives are met. Reporting directly to the Survey & Positioning Solutions Lead, the Survey Manager collaborates with matrixed functions to organize effective and efficient international sales and performance excellence.

With a keen understanding of the company's international needs, the Survey Manager navigates the cultural, political, and operational challenges of regional markets, identifying opportunities for growth. This role demands significant contributions across various domains, including operations and business management, legal matters, and corporate integration. The Survey Manager excels in communication, driving channel revenue through strong partnerships and internal team collaboration.

A champion of global consistency and collaboration, the Survey Manager identifies systemic issues, works with functional leads to enhance performance, and ensures these improvements are fully implemented. Demonstrated safety and quality leadership, along with the promotion of company values, are critical components of this position. Additionally, the Survey Manager coordinates large-scale project work and facilitates resource sharing with key Oceaneering leaders in the US and international locations.

This is an office US based position with a hybrid work schedule remotely and/or another designated geographicarea as needed. Ability to travel domestically and international as assigned.


Duties And Responsibilities

Management and Leadership:

  • Serve a leadership role in Survey Service's continued growth and success - always Demonstrate visible safety leadership.
  • Comply with company safety rules and training, conduct operations safely - report and drive prevention/mitigation of any unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Support weekly/monthly/quarterly discussions and business reviews with the operations organization, identifying and analyzing trends.
  • Develop and implement metrics to monitor productivity, revenue performance and ensure service level metrics are proactively monitored to enable early warning of potential issues.
  • Policy and process development in supporting continuous improvement of region's business and operations management
  • Develop dynamic capacity planning and internal support structure to enable the operations function to meet and grow client delivery expectations.
  • Create reports and analysis data for trends that indicate problems to address or opportunities to investigate.
  • Manage, coach, and mentor multiple teams, with varied operational focus.
  • Performs additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support organizational objectives.

Support and Service Excellence:

  • Oversee quality assurance in active management of segment operations, inclusive of planning, budgeting, customer interaction, 3rd party contracts, procurement, and revenue collection
  • Actively supports Survey Service's quality and continuous improvement efforts to ensure that business and technical practices remain highly competitive
  • Lead high-value proposal submittals, legal agreement negotiations and the execution of complex deals
  • Manage and improve the processes and systems necessary to roll-up consistent global reporting.
  • Work closely with other internal customers to understand current and future business needs.
  • Share best practices and collaborate with Operations, Finance and Sales Operations teams across the company
  • Performs additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support organizational objectives.

Profit and Loss (P&L):

  • Supports the compilation and successful execution of Survey Service's annual operating plan.
  • Serves as a significant contributer in monthly delivery of business performance capture and forecast presentation.
  • Assists in the planning of business strategies associated with revenue and execution enablement and improvement.
  • Work with company-wide regional management and operations teams, to improve and execute business development in their region of focus.
  • Performs additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support organizational objectives.

Sales and Business Development:

  • Identify new prospects and generate new opportunities, devise and assist execution of enablement plans.
  • Maintain a high level of customer and peer communications, and industry engagement.
  • Collaborates within the Oceaneering organization for opportunity development across business lines and best use of company resourcing.
  • Attend meetings in clients' offices and give company presentations, and attend trade shows as needed.
  • Completion of domestic and international travel in support of customer engagement and on-site visits.
  • Performs additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support organizational objectives.

Metrics/ KPIs:

  • Monitor and intervene on functional KPI's that support the safety, quality, cost, customer service, delivery and people objectives.
  • Ensure that the metrics are used to drive the right focus and behaviors within the business.
  • Communicate the critical metrics and KPIs to staff and always make them visible and transparent.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Master's degree or bachelor's degree in survey engineering, hydrographic surveying, electrical engineering, or geomatics. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • 10 plus years progressively responsible experience in offshore survey operations, survey project management, technical support, and business unit management.
  • Functional and broad knowledge of survey systems and their applications.
  • Proficient in standard business software (MS Office etc.), drafting and GIS software (AutoCAD, ArcGIS, TerraModel). Working knowledge of business administration software (SAP, PeopleSoft).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of ISO certification and standard QA / QC processes.

DESIRED:

  • Fifteen (15) to twenty (20) years progressively responsible experience in offshore survey operations, survey project management, technical support, and business unit management.
  • Proficient language skills for target company business area(s).
  • Previous work experience (with residency) overseas, serving in a management role.
  • Qualifications or relevant experience within the areas of business, economics, or international relations.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving emerging/disruptive technologies.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification required.

Additional Information

WORKING CONDITIONS :
This position is considered OFFICE which is characterized as follows:

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place.
  • Work surface is stable (flat).
  • Minimal travel and time away from home (up to 20%).
  • Ability to drive or fly for long periods of time.
